12 Weeks

Lisa is 12 weeks today. 1 trimester down, 2 to go. Her sickness has subsided to a degree. Her current pattern is 1 really bad sick day for every 3 good days. That is way better than it was a few weeks ago. Last monday we went to the doctor and got to hear the Babies heartbeats, which was very exciting. The Baby on her left side, we call Baby 1, was beating 150 beats per minute. Baby 2 was beating 160 beats per minute and was continuously kicking the doctors dopler microphone. We did not know what that sound was until the doctor told us. We are very stoked about their development.

11 Weeks

It may not look like much to you, but to us this is her first sign of a bump. She noticed this week that she was beautifully bulging over the top of her jeans, which has never happened. We take this as a good sign the babies are getting what they need. Lisa has been so sick, we have been praying that the babies would get exactly what they need to grow healthy. We feel everything is developing just the way it should. Even though she is sicker than she has ever been, she knows its ok, because her sickness is a good sign that the babies are beating her up inside in order to make room for what THEY need. Lisa has quickly realized that what she wants no longer matters. My response to that is "Once the twins are born, what you want would not matter anyhow. Might as well get use to it now." I don't think she likes my wisdom these days, but at least I can make myself laugh. Here on out we will be posting weekly pics of her growth, so stay tuned.

7 Weeks

This is our second sonogram taken. This is only 12 days after the first one and our babies have already tripled in size. We were able to see the heart beats in numbers at the top of the screen, but they are entirely to small to physically see a palpatation on the screen. They both had strong 140 Beats Per Minute. We were told that is good, so we are happy about that. We were not on a machine that was strong enough to hear them thru a speaker. The Tech said she did not like to use that machine so early on in a pregnancy, because it is more powerful and may stress the babies. I'm sure our next ultrasound will be the one we get to listen to their heart beats.

5 Weeks

This sonogram was taken less than a 10 days after our positive home test. We went to the Doctors office on a hunch that I was further along in my pregnancy than the 4 weeks. We were told that my hormone level was thru the roof, so initially we were told to come in for a heart beat sonogram. Turns out the time table was accurate, but we found the answer to my high hormone levels , There's two little guys or girls in there. Apparently with a multiples pregnancy everything is a little higher. Hormones, Morning Sickness, Anxiety are some of the things that tend to be higher than a single pregnancy. Yep we found out that day that the Lord has blessed us with TWINS. We were extremely happy with the news of our Twins, but there was about a 12 second window when our hearts stopped. The window I speak of is when the technician said there is one, and there is two, now I am going to see if we have a third. We did not know what to do. Either way we know we have been extremely blessed.

The Day We Knew

This is the first and second pee stick I used to confirm my suspicions. When the first, less expensive, stick gave me a positive pregnancy symbol I was so happy, but with my constant urge to waste my husbands hard earned money, I decided to pee on a much more expensive digital stick less than 5 minutes later. I was even more excited to be able to read the actual words: PREGNANT! P.S. I just could not resist to use my third and final stick the next day. It also came up positive...imagine that.
